As we #SaluteOurForces and pay tribute to the British Armed Forces community for their hard work, dedication and efforts to and keep us safe in the UK and across the globe in Armed Forces Week, we offer a warm welcome to James Delaney who joined us recently as MOD Services Manager. James' career has included 9 years in the Army followed by several years in telecommunications with EE and Fujitsu.
Born and raised in Leeds, James joined the British Army at 17 as a telecomms installation apprentice. His favourite posting was 3 years with Joint Service Signals Unit at Ayios Nikolaos in Cyprus; other postings included Northern Ireland and visits to Norway, Belgium and Oman. James' final 3 years in Corsham, Wiltshire involved supporting operations across the world including multiple Afghanistan tours.
On leaving the Armed Forces James worked for EE for several years in Infrastructure Planning (the build and expansion of the new 4G network across all their UK datacentres).
His past 4 years were spent with Fujitsu as an IDA, working on the Global Connectivity programme to migrate all services across the MoD.
ITI has long recognised that former Armed Forces personnel like James (and current Reservists) offer significant expertise, commitment and transferable skills to our business and help us provide an exceptional service to customers.
For many years we’ve embedded support for ex-Forces staff and current Reservists into our business’ employment policies and working practices, and we are proud to hold the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award – its highest badge of honour – for our work in supporting the military community. We welcome James to our growing business.
James enjoys cooking, the outdoors, travel and music, particularly live events and has travelled across Europe to attend gigs.
