There were indeed tears when ITI’s “team waxathon,” Jason Denmark, Jack Malia and Steve Clarke tried to keep smiling as their legs were waxed silkily smooth on the 8th of December.
But it wasn't only for fun. We hoped to raise £500 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice from sponsorship of the waxathon. But so far we've almost DOUBLED our target – with £923 committed from generous sponsors (er - including some of our own team who preferred to pay sponsorship than endure a waxing!)
It costs Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice over £4m per year to support children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. And much of that comes from fundraising, which is why ITI Network Services Ltd and group business ITI Electrical Services Ltd have chosen Bluebell Wood as one of the charities we’re supporting.
We have already set up a fuelcard initiative paying £0.025p per litre of our engineers’ fuel purchases to Bluebell Wood. With our vans travelling approximately 370,000 miles each year – equivalent to doing the journey from Sheffield to Shanghai and back 31 times – that should generate around £1,000 annually.
But we want to raise more. And what could have been more fun than asking some of our Directors to take part in a leg wax to help support Bluebell Wood?
Can you help us raise even more money for this great cause by donating directly to our fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/ITI-Services-1?
JustGiving sends your donation straight to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.
Thank you for your support!
